Information regarding WEEE (Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Manufacturers and importers of electrical or electronic products are subject to the above EU directive, established by the European Parliament. Sweden has adopted the directive, and the law came into effect on August 13, 2005.

 

Requirements and obligations for relevant parties:

  • Registration with an authorized WEEE organization
  • Reporting the quantity of WEEE products sold on the market and collected.
  • Labeling the product with the WEEE symbol.
  • Prohibited content: The WEEE directive only allows specifically regulated quantities of hazardous chemicals in the product.

 

CBK is aware of the obligations imposed by the directive on manufacturers and importers. CBK is a member of El-Kretsen and connected to FTI. We pay packaging fees that cover the cost of recycling packaging into new products. Through this registration, CBK complies with the Swedish legal requirements set by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.
